Cake de limón y alcaravea

Hace un tiempo que me rondaba por la cabeza hacer una serie de recetas que había visto con determinadas especias que no encontraba por ningún supermercado. Así que, aprovechando que tenía que comprar la fruta confitada para el tortell de reyes, me acerqué a una herboristeria y me decidí a comprarlas de una vez por todas. Ante tanto cacharro con pequeñas semillitas tengo que confesar que me hubiese llevado una bolsa de cada una de ellas, pero finalmente me decidí por alcaravea, cardamomo y semillas de hinojo.

La alcaravea, con aroma parecido al anís, la quería concretamente para hacer un cake con limón, y precisamente por esta receta es por la que me he decidido esta tarde.
Ahí van los ingredientes y su preparación.

Ingredientes
250 gr. de harina
150 gr. de mantequilla
170 gr. de azúcar
2 huevos
1 bolsita de levadura
1 pizca de sal
1/2 dl. de leche
la piel de 2 limones
1 cucharada de semillas de alcaravea
1 bolsita de vainilla

.Untar con mantequilla un molde de plum-cake y precalentar el horno a 180º.
.Dejar ablandar la mantequilla a temperatura ambiente mientras separar las yemas de las claras, lavar los limones y rallar la piel muy fina.
.En un bol trabajar la mantequilla con el azúcar, incorporar las yemas, una a una, y añadir la harina y la levadura poco a poco alternando con la leche. Agregar la piel de los limones, las semillas, la vainilla y con mucha delicadeza las claras montadas a punto de nieve (antes de montarlas echar una pizca de sal para evitar que bajen).
.Verter la masa en el molde y cocer a 160º unos 45 min. aprox. Comprobar la cocción con una aguja, si ésta sale limpia es que el cake ya está. Retirar del horno y dejar enfriar en el molde.
